From the listing
The WEM CCB-1 is a recreation of the preamp section of the famous WEM Copicat tape echo unit. The Watkins Copicat holds an undeniable place in rock history. One of the first tape delay units that was commercially available, it shaped the sound of the '60s and '70s thanks to innovative artists like Robert Fripp, Rory Gallagher, and Phil Manzanera. These British made tape echos were a popular alternative to rarer American models and can be heard across many legendary studio and live recordings from the sixties and seventies - the CCB-1 gives you access to the boost and tone-shaping capabilities of the Copicat preamp in a modern, convenient format. Its legacy continued with modern players like Jeff Tweedy and John Dwyer who sought its singular sound.
