Seller's description

The Wampler Plextortion Distortion is a high-gain distortion pedal designed to capture the sound and feel of a classic British Plexi-style amplifier in a compact stompbox. Renowned for its amp-like response and rich harmonic character, the Plextortion delivers everything from crunchy classic rock rhythms to saturated hard rock and lead tones while maintaining excellent note definition and dynamic sensitivity. Featuring controls for Volume, Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, and Presence, the Plextortion offers extensive tonal shaping beyond that of a typical distortion pedal. The active EQ section allows players to tailor the pedal to virtually any guitar or amplifier, making it equally effective as a standalone distortion or as the foundation of an amp-like drive sound. The pedal responds naturally to picking dynamics and guitar volume adjustments, cleaning up smoothly when the guitar's volume is rolled back while providing thick sustain and articulate gain when pushed. Its tight low end, expressive midrange, and open high frequencies make it suitable for classic rock, blues rock, hard rock, and modern rock applications. Built with Wampler's renowned attention to quality and reliability, the Plextortion has become a respected choice among players seeking authentic British-inspired distortion without relying on a high-volume amplifier.
