Zodiac Works was founded by Jun Matsuzaki, who crafted guitars for former BO WY member Tomoyasu Hotei at the now-defunct Japanese brand FERNANDES. Renowned for its original designs that transcend conventional norms and the refined woodworking and finishing techniques of its artisans, the company has created the ultimate custom-made guitars for numerous renowned professional musicians, including Tomoyasu Hotei and HISASHI of GLAY. This instrument is the “Tomoyasu Hotei Signature Model,” featuring his iconic “Gitarhythm” pattern (commonly known as the “HOTEI pattern”). Whether you’re a fan or not, this is likely the look that comes to mind when you hear his name. This is the most standard TC model, featuring a fixed bridge and two EMG pickups. It features classic wood combinations: an alder body, a maple neck, and an ebony fingerboard. With a sharp attack and a fast, responsive sound—clear, noise-free, and featuring the solid tone unique to this model—it delivers everything from that iconic, sharp cutting sound to heavily distorted lead tones.
