Seller's description

A vintage POWER DRIVER designed by Gary Hurst and featuring three BC173B transistors The CBS/ARBITER LTD POWER DRIVER is a British-made booster/preamplifier from the 1970s, designed by Gary Hurst, known for his work on the early Tone Bender. Equipped with TREBLE, BASS, and BOOST controls, it allows you to powerfully drive your amp while adjusting the frequency balance. It covers a wide range of sounds, from clean boost to drive tones with natural breakup. This unit is equipped with three BC173B silicon transistors. It is a rare find with very few units in circulation, offering the distinctive sound characteristic of vintage British boosters. Significant signs of wear are visible throughout, including scratches, scuffs, peeling paint, and rust. The front panel has peeling paint, making some of the lettering—including “A GARY HURST DESIGN”—unreadable. There is damage and cracking to the chassis around the back panel mounting screws, and the rubber feet are missing. The battery snap, output jack, one knob, and four back panel mounting screws have been replaced. Functionality has been verified, but given the exterior condition, this unit is classified as “Player’s Condition.” Product Grade: B+: Some scratches present, but no issues for normal use Case: None Instruction Manual: None Accessories: None * As this is a used item, there may be scratches, dents, and other imperfections that are not clearly visible in the photos or not listed here.
