Seller's description

Vintage British Booster Designed by Gary Hurst The CBS/ARBITER LTD POWER DRIVER is a 1970s British-made booster/preamp designed by Gary Hurst, known for his work on the early Tone Bender. The unit bears the inscription “A GARY HURST DESIGN.”Equipped with TREBLE, BASS, and BOOST controls, it allows you to powerfully drive your amp while adjusting the frequency balance. It handles a wide range of sounds, from clean boost to drive tones with natural breakup. This unit features three BC549B silicon transistors. It is a rare and valuable piece that embodies the design philosophy of the early days of British boosters, with very few units still in circulation. Overall, it shows signs of wear appropriate for its age, such as scratches, scuffs, peeling paint, and rust, but it functions perfectly. Some of the knobs have chips. Additionally, three of the four screws securing the back panel have been replaced.
