The pickup has been replaced with a DiMarzio Dark Matter 2; this is a Steve Lukather Model LK100D by Music Man, built in 2025. This signature model is based on the Music Man L III. It features a basswood body, a classic V-shaped maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard, locking tuners, and a Music Man “Stalin” vintage tremolo. It boasts an active boost function via a push-push volume control and a 5-way selector switch, offering a wide variety of sound options. This is a hybrid model with the pickups replaced with Steve Vai’s signature “Dark Matter 2.” There are signs of wear (scratches, play marks, picking marks, tarnish or pitting on metal parts and screws, and other cosmetic damage). The zipper pull on the case is missing. Set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, action adjustment, and anchor re-gluing); the frets are at a height suitable for playing, and the truss rod has been tested up to 60° in both directions and is in good working order.
