The latest model in Hawker's popular line of analog delay designs Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Asheville Music Tools is an effects pedal brand founded by Rick Hawker Shake that is dedicated to the pursuit of fully analog sound. Combining build quality that withstands daily use with high sound quality, the brand has garnered support from analog audio enthusiasts and professional guitarists alike. The ADG-1 is the latest model in Hawker’s popular analog delay series. It uses two Xvive high-voltage BBDs to generate a rich, floating echo with up to 700 ms of harmonics. It features an extensive range of fully analog controls unprecedented for a pedal of this size. From bright country slapback to dotted-eight leads and psychedelic modulation journeys, the ADG-1 sets a new standard for compact analog delays. The ADG-1 is constructed from over 400 carefully selected components and utilizes high-quality, audio-grade op-amps and high-precision, non-microphonic capacitors throughout the signal chain to achieve low noise and high stability. This unit combines two studio-grade Xvive MN3005 reissue BBDs with a high-voltage step-up power supply to ensure ample headroom. A vintage-style compander and high-order filters maintain an analog-like texture while delivering clarity and reduced noise. The feedback circuit is voltage-controlled, allowing for a wide range of sounds—from fine-tuned, infinitely repeating feedback to aggressive feedback sounds. The input preamp employs a JFET high-impedance input stage, ensuring stable operation and allowing for continuous use as a buffer. The preamp/drive circuit also produces a unique analog character by overdriving delay lines and mixers. We’ve maintained a commitment to analog design—from the clock and modulation to the switching—and the temperature-compensated VCO delivers a clear sound with minimal artifacts. The Expression/CV input allows for real-time control of parameters such as Delay Time and Feedback. Furthermo
