Made in 1979. A used ST model from the long-established Japanese brand Greco has arrived! The body is made of SEN WOOD—which has long been referred to as “Japanese Ash” and used as a substitute for ash due to its similar appearance and tonal characteristics—and features a bolt-on one-piece maple neck with just the right thickness for a comfortable grip. The result is a sound with a fast attack and a clear, resonant tone. The pickguard and circuitry—including the pickups—have been replaced with non-original parts (likely from some entry-level model). Additionally, the pickup cavity has been routed into a “lunchbox”-shaped recess. The back panel was missing upon arrival, and the strap pin on the horn side has been replaced. The frets are quite worn, with only about 40% of the original material remaining. As a result, you may experience some muffling or buzzing when bending strings in the higher positions. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask for your understanding in advance. Overall, there are signs of wear and use, such as dents, paint discoloration, and sticker residue on the front of the body. Additionally, there are scattered signs of damage, including aftermarket screw holes on the back of the body, age-related cracks and gaps in the paint finish around the neck joint (though there is no visible movement in the wood), and paint peeling on the fingerboard surface; however, these do not currently affect playability. The bridge plate shows slight warping, and the hardware exhibits signs of deterioration such as tarnish and rust, but there are currently no functional issues.
