This is the E.C. Current from Astorias’ EC Series with an OM body. This auditorium-body acoustic guitar is crafted by Astorias, a classical guitar workshop based in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Kyushu, known as one of Japan’s world-renowned guitar makers. It features a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood sides and back, maple binding around the body, a rosewood fingerboard, and GOTOH tuning pegs. This OM model features an all-lacquer finish, and the label includes the notation “USE Light Gauge String Only”; its sound is highly recommended for fingerstyle players and singer-songwriters. There is overpaint on the back of the neck, marks where a pickup was once mounted, and the endpin hole has been enlarged (no endpin included). Signs of use are visible, including discoloration, minor scratches and scuffs throughout, wear marks, playing lines, picking marks, buckle marks, overpaint on the back of the neck along with multiple impact marks and ring marks, and tarnish and rust on metal parts and screws, among other cosmetic damage. It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, and fret leveling). Although the originally narrow fret tops are on the lower side, they are currently at a height that poses no problem for playing. The truss rod can be adjusted in both directions and has been tested to operate up to ±60° (currently set slightly tight).
