Seller's description

The popular OD-1 featuring the JRC4558D!! Among the OD-1 Overdrives—BOSS’s first-ever overdrive pedals—the “Made in Japan” models from the 1980s featuring the JRC4558D op-amp remain highly regarded vintage pedals to this day. Characterized by a natural, sticky distortion reminiscent of a pushed tube amp, they add pleasant compression and richness to the midrange while preserving chord definition. It offers a quick response and soft edge that current models lack, and its ability to follow picking nuances is exceptional. In particular, the thick, warm sound produced by the JRC4558 makes it easy to use not only for blues and rock but also as a crunch booster, allowing you to experience the tone that supported legendary performances of yesteryear. This unit possesses the unique charm of a Japanese-made vintage OD-1—it’s not just a collector’s item but a practical pedal that remains at the forefront of use today.
