The 2019 Xotic XTC-1 Alder Heavy Aged has arrived!! This is one of the models from the company’s XTC series, handcrafted in California, USA. Carefully crafted one by one in a U.S. workshop, the company pays meticulous attention to every detail—from the selection of wood to even the smallest parts—and it’s no exaggeration to say that every single instrument is a true gem. The model we’ve received, completed in 2019, features an alder body, a roasted flame maple neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. It features an over-color finish—Dark Lake Placid Blue layered over a sunburst base—which, combined with the heavily aged finish, gives it a commanding presence. While it can be difficult to assess the wear on this model due to its finish, it is in good overall condition. Included are a damaged original hard case (manufactured by SKB), a spec sheet (one spec card in English and one sheet in Japanese), the Owner’s Manual, a Magnum Lock, and the PLEK adjustment data sheet manual.
