Seller's description

1963 Selmer Truvoice Treble ‘n’ Bass 50 – Crockskin Finish A superb example of one of Selmer’s most iconic amplifiers, this 1963 Truvoice Treble ‘n’ Bass 50 head captures the essence of early British tube tone before the rise of Vox and Marshall. Finished in its original crocodile-pattern “Crockskin” vinyl, this amp exudes vintage character and unmistakable mid-century style. Cosmetically, it presents in very good condition for its age, showing only light wear consistent with careful use. The mains transformer has been replaced with a correct-specification unit, ensuring dependable operation without compromising authenticity. The amp has undergone a full professional inspection and service in our workshop—everything functions exactly as it should. Sonically, this Selmer is pure early-’60s magic. The cleans are open and shimmering, with a glassy top end and smooth midrange presence. As the volume climbs, the amp blooms into a beautifully textured overdrive—organic, harmonically rich, and touch-sensitive, with that unmistakable British bite that defined an era. It pairs perfectly with both single-coil and humbucking guitars, responding dynamically to pick attack and guitar volume for expressive control. This Treble ‘n’ Bass 50 is not only a remarkable piece of British amplifier history but also a genuinely inspiring player’s amp. A stunning addition for any professional guitarist seeking authentic vintage tone—or a serious collector looking to complete a classic lineup.
