Seller's description

Good as new!  This pristine Hofner Cavern bass just arrived with all its bells and whistles. Nicknamed the 'Cavern' bass in homage to the man and place that catapulted Hofner's unmistakable design into the history books. This '61 reissue 500/1 was originally developed as a lightweight and portable alternative to an upright in 1956 but found itself on a completely different trajectory when it fell into the hands of Paul McCartney. A hollow, flamed Maple body with a Spruce top, three piece Maple neck, floating bridge and of course, dual Hofner Diamond humbucking pickups spaced close together by the neck join that deliver the woody, warm depth and thump that we associate with the era and that provided the backbone to early hits such as 'Please, Please Me'.  The instrument has been well looked after by its previous owner and comes complete with its original hardcase and certificate along side our two year set up and servicing warranty all wrapped up in the price.  Feel free to get in touch for any further information via the contact form below!
