The Rozz Tone Banker is a rare vintage Japanese guitar effect dating from 1977. Produced during an especially interesting period for Japanese effects design, it is an unusual piece of vintage gear with distinctive period styling and considerable appeal for collectors of obscure Japanese pedals. Rather than functioning as a conventional overdrive or modulation effect, the Tone Banker is designed for tonal shaping, allowing the guitar signal to be adjusted before it reaches an amplifier or other effects. Its straightforward analog design makes it useful for altering the tonal balance of a guitar setup, while its vintage construction gives it the character of late-1970s Japanese effects equipment. With surviving examples becoming increasingly difficult to find, the Rozz Tone Banker is particularly interesting as a collector's item. This 1977 Made in Japan example represents an uncommon piece of early Japanese effects history, and it is all original.
