This is a very early Series l Progress 4 - dating from the mid/late 1980’s. It is in very condition bearing in mind that it is over thirty-five years old! With a nice playing setup, good frets, little wear and nicely polished. Grat active electronics and a nice slim neck. The neck is a 3 piece Maple and Mahogany and the body Mahogany/Sycamore laminate and what looks like a Thai Rosewood fingerboard. It is fitted with a pair of original Overwater dual coil ’soapbar’ pick-ups and with an active preamp with ’sweep filter’ tone controls, This was designed and built by Overwaters, then electronics guy, Bruce Kier (later he was design and technical director at Marshall and founder of Blackstar Amplification)… This was a production model from around 1986 to 1989-90, when they brought out the Series ll .
