Seller's description

The Maxon D&S II Distortion and Sustainer is a vintage Japanese pedal from the late 1970s to early 1980s, highly regarded for its rich, dynamic overdrive and sustain. As the successor to the original Maxon D&S, the D&S II refines the circuit to deliver a smoother, more amp-like distortion with enhanced sustain, making it a favorite among players seeking classic rock and blues tones. Controls are kept simple with Sustain, Tone, and Balance. Sustain adjusts the gain and compression, Tone shapes the brightness and character of the sound, and Balance sets the output level. The result is a pedal capable of everything from mild, creamy drive to thick, harmonically rich distortion that sings on leads and adds body to rhythm playing. Built in Japan with Maxon’s signature attention to detail, the D&S II features a sturdy metal chassis and reliable components that have stood the test of time. Today, it is sought after by collectors and players alike, not only for its vintage tone but also for its historical place in Maxon’s celebrated lineup of early effects.
