From the listing
The Milestone is a handwired germanium fuzz from Mad Professor that takes its inspiration from vintage mixing consoles, which is a fitting place to start, since some of the earliest fuzz tones ever recorded came from overloaded console channels in early-’60s studios rather than from anything designed to make that sound on purpose. What Mad Professor has done is take that raw, early character and build it into a pedal that behaves well on a modern board, so you get the dynamic, touch-responsive feel that draws players to germanium in the first place without having to plan your whole signal chain around it. The key to that is a transformer circuit that lets the Milestone sit after buffers or other pedals while keeping both its character and its touch sensitivity, which opens up a lot of freedom in how you stack it and where you put it. You can run it later in the chain than you would a traditional germanium fuzz, pair it with your favorite drive or boost, or try unconventional orderings just to hear what happens, and the fuzz still cleans up and opens up under your picking hand the way it should. Volume and Fuzz cover output and gain, and a two-band EQ with shelving-style Bass and Treble controls lets you boost or cut the low and high end to suit your amp and your instrument. That EQ is wide enough that the Milestone works on bass guitar too, which feels right for a circuit with roots in studio fuzz. Each Milestone is handwired in Finland by Mad Professor and is true bypass. It runs on 9V DC from a standard 2.1mm center-negative supply, draws about 8mA, and is protected against reversed polarity, so it drops easily onto a shared power supply.
