Seller's description

The Ken Multi MFL-7 Flanger is a vintage flanger effect pedal made in Japan, and this particular unit carries serial number 039560. Ken Multi produced a range of compact guitar effects in Japan, and the MFL-7 stands out as one of the harder-to-find flangers from that era, making it an interesting acquisition for collectors and players seeking authentic vintage modulation. The MFL-7 delivers the lush, swirling sound characteristic of analogue flanging, ranging from subtle chorus-like textures to deeper, more pronounced jet-style sweeps and far-out warbling effects. Its four controls, labeled Rate, Depth, Manual, and Feedback, allow precise shaping of the modulation: Rate sets the speed of the sweep, Depth controls its intensity, Manual adjusts the timing character of the effect, and Feedback determines the resonance and richness of the swept signal. This range of adjustment makes the pedal suitable for subtle studio-style thickening as well as more pronounced, animated flanging for lead lines and experimental textures. Built in a compact housing, the MFL-7 reflects the practical design approach of Japanese effect manufacturers of its period. As a vintage unit, it offers a distinctive analogue character that is difficult to replicate with modern digital emulations, and its relative scarcity on the second-hand market adds to its appeal for players and collectors of Japanese pedal history.
