Writing Keeley Compressor Plus Germanium – 25th Anniversary Edition Celebrate 25 years of Keeley Electronics with the Keeley Compressor Plus Germanium, a fresh evolution of one of the brand’s most iconic compressor pedals. Combining the familiar versatility of the Compressor Plus with a Japanese-style germanium transistor, this special edition introduces a distinctive new character while preserving the musical response, sustain, and control players expect from Keeley. The germanium-enhanced circuit features germanium in both the audio output section and side-chain feedback circuit, bringing a new dimension to the classic compressor design. Four intuitive controls—Level, Tone, Compression, and Blend—make it easy to shape your sound, from subtle dynamic control to enhanced sustain. The signature Blend control lets you mix your dry and compressed signals, retaining your instrument’s natural attack, clarity, and feel. Designed for versatile pedalboard integration, the Compressor Plus Germanium offers switchable true or buffered bypass, selectable on the fly, along with flexible 9–18V DC power compatibility. Its low 25mA current draw and standard center-negative connection make it easy to incorporate into most modern pedalboard setups. More than an anniversary release, the Compressor Plus Germanium represents the next chapter in Keeley’s legacy of thoughtful circuit design and musical innovation.
