JHS Pedals PackRat Multi-Mode Distortion Nine legendary RAT circuits. One pedal. Decades of iconic distortion tones. The ProCo RAT has been shaping guitar tones since 1978, evolving from overdrive to distortion and all the way to fuzz. The JHS Pedals PackRat celebrates more than 40 years of RAT history by bringing nine legendary RAT circuits together in one versatile pedal. The PackRat uses the same unique digital switching system found in JHS multimode pedals like the Muffuletta and Bonsai. It routes 261 components through 40 individual switches, allowing each mode to operate as a fully analog circuit that faithfully recreates the character of the original RAT variations—including the unique component aging that helps define their sound. From classic overdrive and aggressive distortion to saturated, fuzzy textures, the PackRat gives you an enormous range of RAT-inspired tones without needing a collection of vintage and hard-to-find pedals. The RAT’s influence spans virtually every genre, with iconic artists including Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Metallica, R.E.M., the Eagles, Jeff Beck, and Radiohead incorporating its unmistakable sound into their rigs.
