Seller's description

Reverty Used Guitars Japan — every instrument inspected, set up, and played before listing. Mid-to-Late 1970s Guyatone Custom Precision Bass Type (EP Series) - Made in Japan This is a vintage Guyatone Custom Precision Bass type, built in Japan in the mid-to-late 1970s. Guyatone is one of Japan's oldest electric instrument makers, founded in Tokyo in 1933. This bass comes from the era when Japanese makers were building Fender-style instruments for both the domestic and export markets. The headstock carries the Guyatone script logo, a "CUSTOM" decal and the marking "CUSTOM MADE NO 1975101". This number appears on many Guyatone Custom instruments of the period, so it is not a unique serial number. Guyatone catalogs from 1976 and 1977 list EP Series precision-style basses (EP-40 / EP-30, and EP-20 in 1977). The exact model number of this example has not been confirmed. This bass is sold AS-IS because of the neck condition described below. Please read the condition section carefully. == SPECIFICATIONS == - Model: Guyatone Custom Precision Bass type (EP Series; exact model number not confirmed) - Year: Mid-to-late 1970s (c.1975-1978) - Country of Origin: Japan - Color: Cream - Neck: Maple, bolt-on (4-bolt chrome neck plate), skunk stripe on the back of the neck - Fingerboard: Maple, black dot inlays, 20 frets - Pickups: One split-coil pickup (black cover) - Controls: One volume, one tone - Bridge: 4-saddle steel bridge - Tuners: Open-gear bass tuners with clover keys - Pickguard: White 3-ply - Nut width: 39.3 mm - Neck thickness: 21.7 mm at 1st fret / 24.0 mm at 12th fret - Weight: 4.5 kg (measured, body only) == CONDITION == Overall: Fair (sold as-is) - Body: Numerous scratches, dings and finish chips from decades of play, including the edges, horn tips, strap button area and back. - Neck: Forward bow with high action.
