This second hand electric guitar is in great condition With the G0 Serial number and Jumbo MFD Pickups, this is likely a mid-1990s USA G&L ASAT Special. When Leo Fender first released this in 1986 it was simply the ASAT, however when G&L introduced a version with slim telecaster style pickups in the early 1990s this was renamed to the ASAT Special to differentiate it . The G&L ASAT Special is a distinctive take on the classic bolt-on electric guitar, combining familiar styling with the innovative approach to design that G&L became known for. Dating from the 1990s, this ASAT Special comes from an era when G&L guitars were particularly well regarded for their build quality, playability and powerful, articulate tones. It offers plenty of vintage-inspired character while bringing a more modern and versatile approach to the traditional single-cut electric guitar. At the heart of the ASAT Special are G&L's renowned MFD (Magnetic Field Design) single-coil pickups. They deliver everything from crisp, articulate clean tones to punchy overdriven sounds, while the individual pickup controls allow plenty of tonal variation. The ASAT Special's familiar body shape makes it comfortable and intuitive to play, while the bolt-on construction gives the instrument a lively, immediate response. The neck has the kind of straightforward feel that makes the guitar equally at home with rhythm playing, country-influenced picking, blues and rock. The combination of its distinctive pickups and traditional controls gives the ASAT Special a broad tonal palette without losing the simplicity that makes this style of guitar so appealing. As a 1990s G&L, this ASAT Special also has considerable appeal for players and collectors who appreciate American-made instruments from this period. G&L's connection to
