EVH Striped Series Frankie

Seller's description

Few guitars are as instantly recognizable as Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstein. The Striped Series Frankie brings that legendary look to a guitar you can actually take on stage, wearing the famous red, white, and black stripes with a worn-in, relic finish that looks like it has already logged a few thousand gigs. The body is a Stratocaster-style build in basswood, paired with a quartersawn maple neck reinforced with graphite for extra stability. The back of the neck has an oiled finish that stays smooth and fast under your hand, and the maple fingerboard features a 12"-16" compound radius with 22 jumbo frets, so chords feel comfortable down low and big bends stay clean up high. Like Eddie's original, Frankie is routed for an HSS configuration. A single EVH Wolfgang humbucker handles the bridge position, while a dummy Strat neck pickup and dummy five-way switch keep the classic look. Even the lone volume knob, with its white skirt, is labeled "tone" as a nod to Eddie's own setup. Tuning stability comes from an EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking tremolo and locking nut, which hold pitch through heavy dive bombs. The EVH D-Tuna lets you drop to D and back with a flick of a finger. Finishing touches include a black pickguard, relic chrome hardware, standard strap buttons, and an EVH neck plate.
