The Senior is Duesenberg’s take on a stripped-back, single-pickup rock guitar, inspired by the single-cut workhorses of the 1950s. It has one pickup, one volume control and a wraparound bridge, and it’s finished in all-over high-gloss Black. The simple layout is backed by a pickup that gives you three distinct voices, so the Senior covers a lot more ground than its controls suggest. Construction The body is solid mahogany with large internal sound chambers and a carved solid maple top. The chambers make the guitar lighter and more resonant than a standard solid body, while the mahogany and maple keep it focused and punchy. The set neck is a single piece of mahogany with a Medium D profile. It has an Indian rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius, 22 jumbo frets and cream dot inlays, finished with cream binding. The 25.5" scale gives the Senior a firm feel and a tight, defined low end. Every Duesenberg is Plek processed, then hand-finished and set up in Hannover, so the action can sit low without fret buzz. Combined with a single volume control, that gives you everything from bright, cutting single-coil tones to thick humbucker drive with very little to get in the way. Hardware The Duesenberg wraparound bridge keeps things simple and solid, with direct string coupling to the body for good sustain and attack. Duesenberg Z-Tuners let you tuck the string ends inside the tuner shaft, out of the way of your fingers and case. Hardware is finished in nickel, which has a warmer sheen than chrome and ages naturally over time. It comes with a Duesenberg Custom Lin
