Seller's description

The Carr Skylark Special combines classic American tube amp tones with expanded versatility, offering everything from sparkling blackface-style cleans to rich tweed overdrive and punchy British-inspired tones. Handwired in the USA using true point-to-point construction, this 12-watt amplifier features a pair of 6V6 power tubes, an EZ81 tube rectifier, and a Celestion A-Type 12" speaker for exceptional dynamics, touch sensitivity, and tonal detail. An extended-range Mid and Presence control provides impressive flexibility, while the Hi/Low Gain switch lets players move from vintage-inspired cleans to more aggressive, saturated overdrive. The switchable H73 tone section, borrowed from Carr's Bel-Ray amplifier, introduces a bold, Hiwatt-inspired British voice. All-tube spring reverb adds depth and dimension, and the built-in variable attenuator reduces output from 1.2 watts down to whisper levels without sacrificing the amp's character. Housed in a lightweight Baltic birch plywood cabinet and built with premium components, including custom Carr transformers and Jupiter signal capacitors, the Skylark Special delivers boutique craftsmanship and outstanding performance. Whether you're recording at home, playing in the studio, or performing onstage, the Skylark Special offers an exceptionally versatile take on classic low-wattage tube amplification.
