Seller's description

The BOSS DS-1-4A Distortion is a limited-edition version of one of the most recognisable distortion pedals ever made. Created to commemorate 40 years of BOSS compact pedals, it combines the familiar DS-1 circuit with a distinctive black and gold finish. This used example is in Good condition, showing signs of previous use consistent with a pre-owned pedal. It retains the straightforward Level, Tone and Distortion controls that have made the DS-1 a pedalboard staple for decades. What Makes the BOSS DS-1-4A Special? The DS-1-4A takes the classic DS-1 formula and gives it a distinctive commemorative appearance, with a black enclosure, gold lettering, gold-capped knobs and vintage-style silver battery thumbscrew. Produced as a limited-edition model, it offers additional appeal for BOSS collectors while remaining a practical working distortion pedal. Its familiar two-stage gain circuit delivers the hard-edged attack, rich harmonics and sustained distortion associated with the standard DS-1. The wide-ranging Tone control can move from fuller, warmer sounds to brighter, cutting distortion, while the Distortion control covers everything from mild drive to saturated rock tones. Who Is It For? The DS-1-4A is ideal for players looking for classic BOSS distortion in a less common finish. It works particularly well for rock, alternative, punk, grunge and heavier styles, while lower Distortion settings can also be used to push an already driven amplifier. Its limited-edition appearance also makes it an appealing option for BOSS enthusiasts and pedal collectors.
