Seller's description

The classic 6176 tube mic preamp and FET compressor became a staple in countless hit recordings, prized by engineers for its rich tone and musical compression. Carrying that legacy forward, the Behringer 676 offers a modern take on the design—a tube mic/line preamp and FET compressor featuring custom Midas transformers and premium 12AX7/ECC83S and 12AT7/6072 tubes, delivering warm, detailed sound in a single 2U rack unit. The preamp section is designed for straightforward operation, with controls for input gain, impedance, polarity, shelving EQ, and boost/cut options. A Join/Split switch allows the preamp to be used independently of the compressor, making it easy to tailor your signal chain. Its circuit offers precise tone shaping that brings out the best in vocals and instruments before any compression is applied. The compressor features lightning-fast attack times (20 to 800 microseconds) and adjustable release (50 to 1100 milliseconds), offering precise control over dynamics. A classic-style VU meter displays gain reduction and output levels at a glance. Whether dialling in smooth levelling or snappy transient control, the 676 delivers flexible, musical results. Built into a rugged 2U chassis, the 676 is ready for both studio and live use. With the option to run the preamp and compressor independently, it’s a versatile addition to any rack.
