Seller's description

The Bad Cat Mod Shop Hot Cat 50 Combo delivers the unmistakable roar and clarity that made the Hot Cat one of the most beloved high-gain tube amps ever produced—now refined through Bad Cat’s Mod Shop for even greater tonal range and responsiveness. Handbuilt in Costa Mesa, California, this 50-watt tube combo blends classic British muscle with modern flexibility, making it equally at home on stage, in the studio, or in a professional touring rig. At the heart of the Hot Cat 50 is a powerful EL34-driven output section paired with four 12AX7 preamp tubes, delivering dynamic response, rich harmonic overtones, and authoritative punch. Two fully independent channels each feature Low and High modes, giving players access to four distinct voices—from expansive, glassy cleans to aggressive British crunch and modern high-gain saturation. The shared Treble, Middle, and Bass EQ section allows for precise tonal shaping across both channels, while a redesigned presence circuit keeps the top end articulate and musical at any volume. Independent gain and volume controls per channel make dialing in balanced tones effortless, and a global master volume ensures you can push the amp’s natural tube response while keeping levels manageable. Housed in a resonant open-back Baltic birch cabinet and loaded with a Celestion Bad Cat custom 12" speaker, the Hot Cat 50 Combo produces wide dispersion, impressive clarity, and touch-sensitive response that reacts directly to your playing dynamics. Built-in reverb and a buffered effects loop make it easy to integrate pedals and time-based effects without compromising the amp’s core tone. Powerful, expressive, and incredibly versatile, the Bad Cat Mod Shop Hot Cat 50 captures everything players love about classic British-voiced amps while offering the flexibility and refinement demanded by modern guitarists.
