Seller's description

The Arion MTE-1 Tubulator is a vintage overdrive/distortion pedal, Japanese-designed and manufactured in Sri Lanka during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Built to emulate the warm, organic drive of tube amplifiers, it offers tones ranging from mild breakup and bluesy crunch to rich, saturated distortion. Affordable when new but now considered a cult classic, the Tubulator has gained recognition among players and collectors for its musicality and unique charm. Controls include Level, Tone, and Distortion. The Level knob sets the overall output volume, making it useful both as a boost and a main drive pedal. The Tone control adjusts the EQ balance, shaping the sound from dark and smooth to bright and cutting. The Distortion knob sets the amount of drive, allowing you to move from subtle grit to heavier, more aggressive textures. Thanks to its dynamic response, the pedal cleans up well with lighter playing or by rolling back the guitar’s volume knob. Housed in Arion’s lightweight but sturdy plastic enclosure, the MTE-1 is compact, pedalboard-friendly, and tougher than it looks. With its Japanese design, Sri Lankan build, and tube-inspired overdrive character, the Tubulator remains a highly regarded vintage pedal for players who value affordable, musical gear with real personality.
