A 1950s masterpiece from Antoine Di Mauro's legendary Lutherie Moderne workshop in Paris. This Special Chorus Luxe Sunburst represents the golden age of European jazz guitar craftsmanship—a period when Di Mauro's instruments became the choice of Django Reinhardt, Jacques Brel, and Pat Metheny. Born from a dynasty of Mediterranean luthiers, Antoine Di Mauro perfected his art across decades, creating guitars celebrated for their balance, projection, and versatility. The Special Chorus stands as his flagship model, instantly recognizable for its warm, articulate tone and remarkable projection—ideal for gypsy jazz, swing, and demanding soloists. This particular example showcases the sumptuous sunburst finish characteristic of the Luxe line. Recently refretted with complete access to the upper register, it plays with comfort and precision. Vintage SB-type tuners—matching those on Busato and Favino instruments—underscore its authenticity and historical significance. Spruce top, maple back and sides, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard deliver a tone that is powerful, dynamic, and singing. The 645 mm scale and D-profile neck offer the classic feel of a true Parisian jazz instrument. A collector's piece and a player's guitar in equal measure—embodying the history, soul, and uncompromising craftsmanship of 1950s Paris. Includes original case.
