Seller's description

Up for sale we have a 1980 Kramer XKB-20 4-String Electric Bass in Natural finish with modern hardshell case. A distinctive and increasingly collectible example of early Kramer engineering, this 1980 Kramer XKB-20 represents one of the most interesting bass designs to emerge from the company’s pioneering aluminum-neck period. Produced for only a very short time, the XKB-20 combines a streamlined, solid-body design with Kramer’s signature aluminum neck construction and a powerful DiMarzio split-coil P-style pickup. This particular example is all-original to the best of our knowledge, in excellent lightly used condition and perfect working order. The body shows light cosmetic wear with small dings and surface scuffs/scratches scattered throughout as well as a bit of forearm wear just on the edge of the bass side lower bout. The neck is in great shape as well with some light scratches down the length of the backside, mostly visible just on the metal areas. The non-adjustable neck (no truss rod) has just a touch of relief and plays great. The original medium jumbo frets are present and show minimal play wear with lots of life left. Overall a well cared for instrument, set-up with 45-105 round wound strings and ready to go. Specs: - 34” scale length - solid two-piece Maple body with thin Walnut center seam - equipped with its original P-Style split coil Dimarzio pickup - Master volume and Master tone controls with knurled chrome barrel knobs - stop tail bridge with 4 adjustable steel saddles - bolt-on rigid aluminum neck with Maple inserts - medium sized D-shape neck profile measuring .850” deep at the first fret and .970” deep at the twelfth fret - width at the (aluminum) nut measures 1 1/2” - durable synthetic Ebonol fingerboard with silver dot inlaid position markers - 21 medium jumbo frets (including zero fret) - split headstock with Schaller tuning machines - overall weight: 9 lbs. 11 oz. The bass will be properly packed with care prior to shipment. In-store trades
