Also available at our retail location. Description: This is a genuinely exceptional example of an early-1970s Marshall JMP — the kind of amp that turns up once in a great while and makes you stop what you're doing. Big box chassis, gold-panel plexi-style faceplate, and internals that are shockingly intact for a 50+ year old amp. History: Only two owners from new. The original owner was a jazz guitarist who rarely played it — this amp spent most of its life resting, not touring, and it shows. I'm the second owner. That kind of ownership history is exactly why the electronics inside are as clean as they are. Condition: Very, very clean. This is one of the nicest examples of a big box JMP you're likely to come across — minimal handling wear, tight Tolex, and a chassis free of the corrosion, cold joints, and hack-job repairs you so often see on amps of this era. Originality: The original mustard capacitors are still in place and untouched — no replacement caps, no "while I was in there" mods. For players and collectors chasing that specific early-70s Marshall voicing, that's the single most important detail in this listing. Tubes: New 6550 output tubes are currently installed and have low hours on them, so this amp is ready to play today. The original Sylvania 6550 output tubes are included with the sale for the collector who wants to preserve or reinstall the amp's original voice and full-original status. Included: Original power cable Original 6550 output tubes (currently removed, amp running on new low-hour 6550s) Why this one: Big box JMPs from this window are getting harder to find in unmolested condition — most have been through multiple owners, re-capped, re-biased, or modified along the way. This one wasn't. Light use for most of its life, careful second ownership, and original mustard caps still doing their job. If you're building or completing a serious vintage Marshall collection, this is worth a hard look.
