From the listing
Few instruments capture the wild, space-age optimism of 1960s Japanese guitar design quite like the legendary Teisco Spectrum series. Manufactured in Japan during the peak of the "GS" (Group Sounds) boom, the EBX-200 bass is one of the brands most distinctive, highly sought-after offset basses ever produced. Finished in a rare, vibrant metallic Emerald Green, the EBX-200 features a deep 'German-carved' top contour with sweeping, asymmetric horns that give the body a sculpted, architectural look. Under the white split pickguard assembly, it is equipped with a pair of original Teisco chrome-covered single-coil pickups with black bar bobbins. Controlled by individual rocker switches for pickup selection alongside master volume and tone pots. This bass serves up a thick, thumpy 1960s voice! Boasting a round, pillowy low-end and a woody, percussive midrange bite that sounds amazing. The Maple neck features a comfortable, rounded profile topped with a dark, richly grained Rosewood fingerboard adorned with Teisco's iconic white "spade/shield" pearl inlays. The headstock is an absolute masterpiece of vintage Japanese styling: an asymmetrical arrowhead shape fitted with a matching white plastic faceplate, housing an the original spade-button machine heads. As seen in the photos, this 60s example is in fantastic, honest vintage condition. The metallic finish retains a deep, shimmering shine with typical surface marks, light edge wear, and faint finish scratches that lend it incredible retro character. The pickguards show natural vintage aging and the original chrome bridge and tailpiece assembly is complete. The instrument also includes its original brown leather gig bag. This Bass has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
