From the listing
This is an exceptionally clean 1984 Tokai TLS-50 Love Rock Model (previously LS-50 model) in classic cherry sunburst finish, and is Tokai's take on a 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard (i.e. plain top Les Paul Standard). All original - Made in the "golden era" of Japanese guitars by the highly revered Tokai factory in Japan. The TLS-50 was the "entry level" Les Paul from Tokai in 1984, but even the entry level guitar from Tokai was made incredibly well, with a solid 2-piece maple top, 2-piece mahogany back, beautiful rosewood fretboard, ABR style bridge & tailpiece, Kluson deluxe style tuners, and Tokai's fantastic sounding original Tokai '57 Vintage MKII humbuckers. The top carve on this guitar is beautiful - it's a little more pronounced, giving it a really great look when it catches the light. The finish on this guitar is of course the classic gloss Cherry Sunburst finish, and it just looks amazing from every angle, especially on the center seam top with dynamic grain. The finish on this guitar is poly based, but it is so thin that you can easily see the grain through the finish. The neck is a nice C shaped neck, and it fills the hand nicely – not the thickest, but by no means thin. Frets are original medium jumbo and there is only a very small amount of fret wear on the first few frets - plenty of life left. The Original Tokai '57 Vintage MKII pickups, which both still have the back-plate stickers intact, are fantastic sounding pickups. They use an AlNiCo magnet, with a slightly hot PAF output both coming in at 8.00K ohm. They can handle all genres really well, from classic rock, to blues, to metal if you like. They can clean up well when you roll down the volume pots.Everything on this guitar appears to be original, and this guitar is in near excellent condition - there are only some minor dings, dents, scratches, swirling, and very light buckle rash on the back, but for 40 years - it's in excellent shape.Weight is 9.3 lbs.Overall, this is a very high-quality example
