Ok Fender Thumpers!! Man, is this the PERFECT example of a true “transition year” P Bass folks or what?? Yesssss! I love basses like this that are undeniably stuck in a period of change but STILL undeniably an OLD FENDER!! Got to love this shizz!!This has,,, ready……1 grey, 1 black bobbin 65 pickup, pots and capF series 140000 neck plate Clay dots with transition logo FEB65C stamp“Real” mint green guard with repaired truss rod groove cut (see pics, route was done pro but drove be BONKERS and had to fill it! Thanks Caleb at Charley’s Guitars here in Texas) it retains the original shield that still has the route.. sorry, out of sight out of mind! lolReplaced nut.That covers about all the ”transition“ aspect.. weighs in at 8.7 on my digital scale. The finish is a KILLER color..not sure what to call it, it was applied when I acquired it. It has tinges of all of the above.. Surf and Sea Foam Greens, with an overtone of Daphne Blue in there.. so.. Sea Surf Blue? Dang it..I’m feeling another trademark moment coming on!! Bahahaha but I d think that’s an accurate color assessment!It looks amazing and sounds JUST LIKE YOU’D WANT AND EXPECT! it plays incredible up until about the 14th fret.. it has a bit of a ski bump and if you’re up that high it will need to be addressed. I am from time to time and it needs to be mentioned. Not a show stopper but it’s there.. just not sure if a total refret and planing are necessary, the right “cat” could correct for sure. It feels like it’s made specifically for your hands as it fills up the “well” from every angle.. definitely not slim and thin, but not super beefy and round.. just a comfortable and super satisfying C profile.. yess. And the tones this Bi-Color Bobbin set produce are amazing the shizz bass player dreams are made of!! EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING!!
