Here is a cool vintage 1981 Japanese Tokai LS-60 Love Rock Les Paul. Vintage Tokais (’78-’85) are our absolute favourite Japanese lawsuit style Japanese single-cuts here at GSG. This one is a real beauty with a rare tobacco burst finish (they are often bright tomato clownbursts.) There is even little Birdseye in the maple top. Traditionally built with mahogany back and neck and-2 piece maple top. You can feel the lovely dry old resonant old wood as soon as you pick it up and hit a chord. The neck is probably a whisker off a traditional '59 profile, but not as thin as a '60. It sits in-between and is very comfortable. Neck is straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Weighs in at a solid non-chambered 4.1kg. No issues whatsoever either electrically on structurally. It’s obviously picked up some playwear over the decades as it should have. It once had a pickguard but it has been removed and is no longer with the guitar. There are some bumps scuffs and a little finish checking here and there. We have shown close up pics of the finish checking below the headstock but this is just in the poly finish, not the wood. The guitar is structurally sound. Comes complete with a modern Les Paul hardcase with key full working order. A very good looking vintage Tokai LS-60.
