I am offering a Japanese-made Tokai TLC60, also commonly referred to as the LC-60 Love Rock Custom, manufactured in 1984.Serial number 4022277 corresponds to 1984 production, while the original “60” sticker preserved on the back of the headstock confirms the model designation.This is a classic Japanese interpretation of the Les Paul Custom, originating from one of the most highly regarded periods of Tokai production. The guitar features an all-mahogany construction, a set neck, extensive binding, gold hardware and the characteristic styling of a Custom model.The originally white finish has naturally developed a deep cream colour over more than four decades. Combined with the black pickguard, exposed black humbuckers and aged gold hardware, the instrument has the authentic appearance of a well-preserved early-1980s Les Paul Custom.The body is made from mahogany and features a carved mahogany top. No maple cap was used, giving the instrument a full, focused and saturated sound with a strong midrange, rounded high frequencies and long sustain.The mahogany neck is joined to the body using set-neck construction. The rosewood fingerboard features 22 frets, large rectangular inlays and binding. The headstock is decorated with the classic Tokai logo and a pearl inlay characteristic of Custom-style models.The scale length is 24.75", providing the traditional playing feel, comfortable string bending and suitable string tension for both chord and lead playing.Pickups and electronicsThe guitar is equipped with two original humbuckers: Tokai ’57 PAF Model neck pickup Tokai ’57 PAF Model bridge pickup These are factory Japanese Tokai pickups inspired by classic PAF humbuckers.
