Up for sale, a Tokai Talbo 40th Anniversary Edition with in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Introduced in 1982, the Talbo (an acronym for Tokai aluminum body) is one of the more unique guitars to come out of Japan. It features a double teardrop design with a solid AC-4B aluminum body; the same alloy commonly used in race car engines. Weighing 9lbs 9oz, this Talbo has an expressive range of tones ideally suited for both clear treble cut and high gain, channeled through the Bill Lawrence USA pickups and Fernandes Sustainer. In the bridge position is a Bill Lawrence L-500 humbucker, with an L-250B single coil in the middle and the Sustainer pickup at the neck. Also on board is a killswitch/laser gun effect, with an activation button just below the bridge that can either be used to kill the signal or to generate arcade-style sound effects. This 40th Anniversary Talbo benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.Neck Specs:Wood: MapleShape: Slender C, measuring .825” 1st fret, .890” 12th fretFretboard: Rosewood slab, 12“ radius, pearloid dot inlaysFrets: Medium jumbo, no wearScale Length: 25 1/2"Nut: 1 11/16”Tuners: Gotoh Magnum LockSerialization: Six-digit serial on neck heelBody Specs:Material: AC-4B aluminumPickups: Fernandes Sustainer, Bill Lawrence USA L-250B single-coil, Bill Lawrence USA L-500 humbuckerControls: Volume, Sustainer Volume (center detent), five-way pickup selector, Sustainer Mode mini toggle, Sustainer on/off mini toggle, killswitch/laser SFX button, killswitch/laser mini toggleHardware: Wilkinson by Gotoh tremolo, ridge grip knobsPlastics: One-ply black tinted see-through pickguard, switch tipThe back of the body sports a distinctive German carve, highlighting the fluid lines of the aluminum double teardrop design, and the treble-side body horn has a “Talbo” decal in bold red lettering.
