Reverty Used Guitars Japan — every instrument inspected, set up, and played before listing. 1981 Tokai Silver Star Strat Style Electric Guitar - Black / Maple - Made in Japan This is a 1981 Tokai Silver Star, crafted in Japan by Tokai Gakki at their own factory in Hamamatsu. It has the 70s-style large headstock with a bullet truss rod, a maple neck with a maple fingerboard, and a black finish with a white pickguard. It is an honest, player-grade piece of MIJ history. The Silver Star line was Tokai's take on the 1970s-era Strat design, built during the golden era of Tokai's in-house production (late 1970s to early 1980s). This example is dated by the serial number 1012463, transferred under the headstock logo. In Tokai's 7-digit system, 101xxxx means 1981. No model-number sticker is present at the neck heel, so the exact model within the trap-tuner series (SS-36/38/40) is not confirmed and is not stated here. == SPECIFICATIONS == - Model: Tokai Silver Star (exact model number unconfirmed - no model sticker present) - Year: 1981 (serial 1012463) - Country of Origin: Japan (Tokai Gakki) - Color: Black - Neck: Maple, bolt-on, 3-bolt neck plate with micro-tilt access hole - Fingerboard: Maple with black dot inlays - Headstock: 70s-style large headstock with bullet truss rod adjustment - Tuners: F-style (trap type) tuners - Pickups: Three single coils (white covers) - Controls: Volume, Tone, Tone - Switch: Pickup selector switch - Bridge: Synchronized tremolo with block saddles - Pickguard: White 3-ply == CONDITION == Overall: Very Good (vintage, player-grade) - Body: Honest playwear consistent with age, including small finish chips on edges - Neck: Straight - Frets: Approximately 60-70% remaining - Hardware: Tarnish on metal parts (vintage patina) All electronics function correctly.
