Subway Guitars has been the Bay Area's premier guitar chop shop since 1968.We have been building custom guitars for decades and boast over 300 years combined experience.This sleek Shell Pink Jaguar is a great example of the sort of Affordable Vintage unique pro level guitars that we like to offer to the good citizens here in Berkeley, and now to you online as well.The main attraction is a genuine vintage 1965 original Fender neck that we hand selected from Fat Dog's vault for this project.The neck provides a top notch playing experience. The combination of dot inlay with neck binding was a transitional feature in 1965. It's got the typical 24-inch short scale, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, 7.25-inch radius, and a "C"-shape profile, with binding (introduced around 1965/1966). Made of maple with a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, a 1.625-inch nut width, and a "veneer" (rather than slab) rosewood fretboard.This vintage neck is a real Jewel and we are very pleased to offer it, and you will be pleased to own it!The body is an AVRI body from a large stash that Fat Dog acquired around 2012. It was raw wood that we finished in a very traditional Shell Pink nitrocellulose lacquer.The Bridge is a recent Fender modelThe pickups were ordered from our favorite pickup guru Lindy Fralin. His Jaguar pickups give you the sound of surf, in high definition. Fat, beefy, and warm, these pickups are hotter and thicker-sounding than most of his Strat replacements.The cavities and pick guard are fully shielded and grounded. The wiring is very true to the 60s wiring including CTS pots and the same capacitor values used on the vintage originalsThis guitar is a joy to play. It reminds you that the experience of playing a vintage Fender neck can be closely imitated, but not truly duplicated.
