A 2016 Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar has arrived in stock. Johnny Marr is known as the guitarist, arranger, and songwriter for The Smiths, the band that redefined British pop in the 1980s and took the music scene by storm. The Johnny Marr Jaguar supports a performance that is as distinctive and flexible as the sound he creates. Packed with unique features, this model is based on a 1965 Jaguar modified by Johnny himself and offers specifications ideal for the discerning, unconventional guitarist. Two custom-wound Bare Knuckle Johnny Marr single-coil pickups produce a cutting tone that won’t get lost in the band’s sound. The 4-position blade pickup switch includes a series-wiring option for a high-output, fat tone, while two slide switches on the upper horn roll off the low end in global or position 4 to produce a bright tone. The maple neck, custom-profiled from Johnny’s original guitar, features a vintage-style truss rod at the heel and a 7.25-inch radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 vintage frets. The Jaguar bridge, modified to Johnny’s specifications, features Mustang saddles, a chrome cover, and nylon post inserts to improve tuning and performance stability. The vintage-style floating tremolo comes with a tall tremolo arm featuring a nylon sleeve insert, ensuring it locks securely in any position. While the guitar shows significant signs of use overall—including scratches, dents, and discoloration from sun exposure—it has been inspected and fully adjusted by a professional technician upon arrival and is in good playing condition.
