A Fender USA Signature Series Eric Clapton Stratocaster with noise-canceling pickups, manufactured in 2008. This Stratocaster is based on “Blackie”—the iconic guitar that Eric Clapton used as his main instrument until his retirement. It features an alder body, a one-piece maple neck with a soft V-shape, a 9.5R fingerboard with a 42mm nut, a tremolo unit secured with wood blocks, and three Vintage Noiseless pickups, along with volume and TBX controls and a 25dB mid-boost. Thanks to the TBX controller and mid-boost circuit, this model offers a stable tone while providing the flexibility to handle both lead and chord work with ease. It’s a guitar beloved by many—not just fans—and is suitable for professional use. Signs of use are visible (including minor scratches, scuffs, and scarring around the headstock and outer edges; wear marks, wipe marks, and picking marks; a glossy finish and ring marks on the back of the neck from playing; the characteristic flex of the 8-point pickguard; and tarnish, pitting, and rust on metal parts, among other things). It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, and string action adjustment). The frets are at a height that poses no issues for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both tightening and loosening directions; operation has been confirmed up to ±60° (currently set slightly tight).
