From the listing
A 1978 Fender Stratocaster has just arrived!! This is a large-headstock model, a characteristic of guitars from the late 1960s onward. All specifications typical of models from 1975 onward—including the headstock serial number starting with “S8,” as well as the dates on the pickups and pots—match those of a 1978 model. Although the date on the volume pot cannot be verified due to solder, we have determined it to be original based on the color and shape of the solder. Tone 1 is dated 1377806, indicating a 1978 model; the capacitor features the original Circle D logo, while Tone 2 has been replaced. The cavity for the bridge pickup has been modified to accommodate a humbucker. In addition, the nut and frets have been replaced, and overall, the guitar is in player’s condition—making it a highly recommended vintage guitar that’s easy to play without any fuss. It comes with a rare Owner’s Manual (featuring a serial number sticker matching the headstock serial number). Condition Grade: B+: Some minor scratches, but no issues for normal use Serial Number: S893336 Year of Manufacture: 1978 Country of Manufacture: USA Case: Non-original hard case Accessories: Tonearm, Owner’s Manual Weight: 4.13 kg Truss Rod: No issues; checked up to 60 degrees to the left and right with no problems Remaining Fret Height: Note: While the frets can still withstand filing, they are on the low side String Height (Low String Side): 2.0 mm at the 12th fret String Action (Treble Side): 2.0 mm at the 12th fret Nut width: 40.8 mm Neck thickness near the 1st fret: 22.3 mm Neck thickness near the 12th fret: 24.1 mm Scale: 648 mm (25.5") RADIUS: 184 mm (7.25") Strings at Setup: ERNIE BALL 2223 / .009-.042 set Modifications: Nut, frets, and Tone 2 pot replaced.
