From the listing
A 1977 Fender Music Master has just arrived!! Like the Mustang and Duo-Sonic, the Musicmaster was originally designed as a short-scale guitar. Although the Duo-Sonic and Musicmaster are sometimes thought to have been developed around the same time as the Mustang, both actually predate the Mustang and were developed at different times. The serial number on the headstock, the pickup date, and the pot date all match the year 1977, so we have determined this to be a 1977 model. The capacitor is the original Circle-D, and the pickguard also matches the headstock serial number, confirming it is original. There are traces on the headstock indicating that a string guide was added in the past, and there are also signs that the current string guide hole positions have been adjusted. While it shows general signs of use, it was inspected and fully adjusted by a professional repair technician after arrival, and it is in good playing condition. Although it’s a vintage guitar, it’s priced relatively affordably and is a great instrument you can play without feeling intimidated. It’s also highly recommended as a first vintage guitar. Neck Date: 4900-1572 Pickup Date: 143177 (1977) Pot Date: 137773×2 (1977) Condition: B+: Some minor scratches, but no issues with normal use Serial Number: S703948 Year of Manufacture: 1977 Country of Manufacture: United States Case: Hard case (shows signs of use, such as stickers) Weight: 3.18 kg Truss Rod: No issues; checked up to 60 degrees to the left and right—no problems Fret Wear: Within normal range; fret height is sufficient for playing String Height (Low String Side): 2.1 mm at the 12th fret String Action (Treble Side): 12th fret: 1.6 mm Nut width: 40.9 mm Neck thickness near the 1st fret: 21.6 mm Neck thickness near the 12th fret: 23.6 mm Scale: 610 mm (24") RADIUS: 184 mm (7.25") Strings at Setup: ERNIE BALL 2221 / .010-.046 set Repairs and Maintenance: Cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave ad
