Fender Custom Shop 1968 Stratocaster Closet Classic Black. It features a black finish with very fine weather checking; however, the certificate of authenticity and spec sheet are missing, so detailed specifications are unknown. The word “RELIC” is written on the body side of the neck pocket, there is a “RELIC” stamp under the pickguard, and the front pickup cavity bears a “68 CC” stamp. There is also a “RELIC” marking on the neck side, and since it bears an “APR 29 2016” stamp, we believe it was manufactured in 2016. It is equipped with gray-bobbin pickups, and based on the solder marks, it appears they have not been replaced. The body is made of alder, the neck is a U-shaped maple neck, and the fingerboard is made of maple. The certificate of authenticity is missing. Since the guitar was originally finished with a relic treatment, it is difficult to determine if there are any new scratches, but there are no noticeable dents on the neck.
