A 2014 1955 Stratocaster Relic has arrived! It features an ash body and a maple neck. The neck shape is a Soft V, which offers just the right amount of grip, and the frets have been replaced with medium jumbo-sized JESCAR frets. The deep, subdued green “Sherwood Green Metallic” finish, combined with a relic finish that creates a well-worn look, gives the guitar a cool, vintage vibe. Although there are no engravings or markings on the pickups to confirm this, based on the resistance values and lead wires, it is likely equipped with the original “Custom ’54 Strat” pickups. It boasts a clear, well-defined, vintage-like sound that is truly captivating. Measured resistance: Bridge approx. 6.28 kΩ, Middle & Neck approx. 5.98 kΩ The pickguard, selector switch, selector knobs, and frets have been replaced. Additionally, the capacitor has been replaced with a SPRAGUE oil capacitor, and the wiring has been modified so that the tone control affects the bridge pickup as well. Due to its relic finish, the details of any scratches added later are unclear; however, based on the modifications and the degree of rust on the hardware, there are signs of wear and damage from playing. Nevertheless, there is no critical damage that would interfere with playability. Furthermore, there is no warping of the pickguard, nor any cigarette or animal odors; however, the hard case has a slight musty smell. The neck is in good condition, and the frets have ample height. Although there are modifications and replacements, they are positive upgrades, and the guitar is still in excellent “player’s condition” and ready for use.
