We’ve just received a beautiful used 2012 Fender Custom Shop 1959 Esquire Relic!! The Fender Esquire can be considered a prototype of the Broadcaster, which was built by Leo Fender around 1949. While its appearance is identical to that of the current Telecaster, it features a single pickup at the bridge. The 3-way selector switch on the control panel functions as follows, starting from the bridge position: Tone Bypass (volume remains active), Normal Control (both volume and tone active), and Tone 0 (tone set to zero regardless of the control’s position). It was crafted based on a 1959 model, featuring an alder body, a maple neck, and a slab-cut rosewood fingerboard. Since it originally had a relic finish, it can be difficult to assess signs of wear, but there are almost no scratches that appear to have been added later, and it remains in good overall condition. Included are the original hard case, two Owner’s Manuals, a bridge cover, four picks, a tag, a Fender Custom Shop CUSTOM CARE card, a sticker, a cleaning cloth, a cable, and a strap. Condition Grade: B+: Some minor scratches, but no issues for normal use Serial Number: R62431 Year of Manufacture: 2012 Country of Manufacture: USA Case: Genuine hard case (case key included) Weight: 3.15 kg Truss Rod: No issues; rod movement tested up to 60 degrees in both directions with no problems Remaining Fret Life: Within normal range; fret height is sufficient for playing String Height (Low String Side): 2.0 mm at the 12th fret String height (treble side): 1.5 mm at the 12th fret Nut width: 42.1 mm Neck thickness near the 1st fret: 20.9 mm Neck thickness near the 12th fret: 24.5 mm Scale: 648 mm (25.5") RADIUS: 241 mm (9.5") Strings at Setup: ERNIE BALL 2221 / .010-.046 set Repairs and Maintenance: Cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, action adjustment, fret leveling Other: Certificate of Authenticity Date: 10/26/12 * As this is a used item, there may be scratches,
