From the listing
Fender Japan PJR-65 Black E Serial -1984–1987- We have received a Fender Japan PJR-65 BLK. This is a PJ-type bass that was part of Fender Japan’s PRO-FEEL series, believed to have been manufactured around 1984–1987. It features a basswood body, a maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. With its compact, distinctive body shape paired with a black finish, this instrument exudes a modern vibe characteristic of the 1980s. It features a PJ pickup configuration, with a DRAGSTER-P in the front and a HOTROD-7J in the rear, along with Volume, Balance, and BASS/TREBLE controls. The blend between the front and rear pickups allows for a wide range of tonal variations, enabling versatile sound shaping from deep, full-bodied bass to a crisp, well-defined attack. Another distinctive feature is the BRASS HEAVY DUTY bridge. The substantial brass bridge and unique hardware configuration accentuate the model’s character. This particular instrument is a “Made in Japan” model with serial number MIJ/E939148. Weighing approximately 3.30 kg, it is exceptionally lightweight, making it highly maneuverable. It has been tested and confirmed to be in working order; there are no issues with any of the controls or overall playability. Approximately 70% of the frets remain, and we have confirmed that the truss rod rotates 60 degrees in both directions. The backplate screws have been replaced, and two are missing. Overall, there are signs of wear and tear, such as scratches and dents, consistent with its age and use. A leather soft case is included as an accessory, but there is damage to the handle and strap areas. Please consider the condition of the case before purchasing. A distinctive Japanese-made Fender PJ bass that is now relatively rare on the market. This instrument combines the innovative design unique to 1980s Fender Japan with a lightweight, easy-to-handle playing experience. -Specifications- Model: PJR-65 Color: Black Country of Manufacture: Japan Year: 1984, circa 1987
