From the listing
A reissue of Fender’s distinctive 6-string bass, the BASS VI, which debuted in 1961. Featuring a 30-inch scale—shorter than a standard bass—it uses the same E-A-D-G-B-E string configuration as a guitar but is tuned one octave lower across all strings. While it offers a playing feel similar to a guitar, it possesses a unique character that allows it to cover the low-frequency range characteristic of a bass. It features traditional wood materials: an alder body, a maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. Each of the three pickups has its own ON/OFF switch, allowing for a wide variety of sounds depending on the combination. It also features a LOW CUT switch to cut low frequencies, enabling you to enjoy a sound that’s a cut above that of a standard bass. This reissue model inherits the character of the original 1960s design while featuring the meticulous craftsmanship unique to Japanese-made instruments. You can enjoy an original sound that transcends the boundaries of traditional guitar and bass. The nut has been replaced. There are drill holes on the upper part of the joint plate where the strap pin was repositioned. These have been filled and touched up. There is a crack and paint chipping on the neck joint. There is paint peeling on the body edge near the jack. There are numerous dents on the body end. Overall, there are many scratches and dents, the metal has a dulled finish, and it shows signs of wear. The frets have been leveled, and the instrument plays well with its current setup. The neck shows signs of bowing and has a wavy profile. There is limited adjustment range remaining on the truss rod. Condition Grade: B+: Has some scratches but is suitable for normal use Serial Number: JD12001993 Year of Manufacture: 2012 Country of Manufacture: Japan Case: Soft case Accessories: Arm Weight: 4.06 kg Truss Rod: Note: Tested up to 60 degrees to the left and right with no issues (some wear remaining; slight high E string) Fret Wear: No issues; sufficient
