The body features a cutaway and a tapered folk-style shape; it is all-solid, with Sitka spruce on the top treated with Yamaha’s proprietary “A.R.E. process” and rosewood for the sides and back. Using Yamaha’s proprietary analysis technology, we refined the bracing design, incorporating newly designed scalloped bracing on the top and bracing specifically developed for the cutaway on the back. This achieves a rich, full-bodied sound—despite the cutaway design—along with powerful resonance in the mid-to-low frequency range.
